Thomas Cromwell is taking a bit of the spotlight from Henry VIII in a new series on BBC Two this month (and this spring on PBS). Wolf Hall, a six-part drama series slated to debut Jan. 21, highlights not the infamous King Henry VIII but instead Cromwell’s rise in the Tudor Court.
Cromwell’s character has been introduced through a two-minute clip provided by BBC:
Based on a series of novels by Hilary Mantel (Wolf Hall and Bring Up the Bodies), Wolf Hall stars Mark Rylance as Thomas Cromwell, Jonathan Pryce as Cardinal Wolsey and Homeland’s Damian Lewis as King Henry VIII:
Wolf Hall premieres on BBC Two Wednesday, Jan. 21, then in the U.S. on PBS Sunday, April 5.
