Saturday Night Live’s Aidy Bryant is back for season two of Hulu’s Shrill, and she’s finding that while facing her troll was not enough, it was definitely a start.

Next up she faces her bigoted and narcissistic boss, Gabe, (Hedwig and the Angry Inch’s John Cameron Mitchell), and soon finds herself back in the workforce where paid gigs seem rather slim for a personal essay writer.

“You are a great essayist,” says one editor. “I would love to offer you an internship. Although I should mention that it’s unpaid.”

“That sounds so nice,” Annie responds haltingly, “I just also … need … money?”

Find out how Annie solves her employment and financial problems when season two drops January 24.

Shrill is executive produced by Lorne Michaels, Elizabeth Banks, Bryant, showrunner Ali Rushfield, Lindy West, Andrew Singer of Broadway Video and Max Handelman of Brownstone Productions. Ali Rushfield, Lindy West, and Aidy Bryant serve as co-writers. The series is based on West’s 2016 memoir, “Shrill: Notes from a Loud Woman.” The series is produced by Warner Bros., Broadway Video and Brownstone Productions.
