For SXSW attendees for whom the title The Terror is not a deterrent, AMC will take them through an experience designed to offer a taste of what the real-life crew of a doomed expedition to the Arctic must have felt back in 1847.

The fully immersive, multi-sensory experience escorts guests through a desolate polar landscape, complete with bone-chilling air and the sounds of men fighting for their lives.

The experiences runs March 10-11 from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. at 300 Colorado Street in Austin.

The Terror, based on the best-selling novel by Dan Simmons, follows a British Royal Naval expedition as they set sail in search of the Northwest Passage. It tells a fictitious story of what might have happened to a real-life crew of 120 that was lost on the ill-fated journey.

The series stars Jared Harris (The Crown, Mad Men, The Expanse) as Captain Francis Crozier, Tobias Menzies (Outlander, Game of Thrones) as Captain James Fitzjames, Ciarán Hinds (Game of Thrones) as Sir John Franklin, Paul Ready as Dr. Harry Goodsir, Adam Nagaitis as Cornelius Hickey, Nive Nilsen as Lady Silence and Ian Hart as Thomas Blanky.

It’s executive produced by Ridley Scott, David Kajganich and Soo Hugh, and produced by Scott Free, Emjag Productions and Entertainment 360 in association with AMC Studios. In addition to Scott, Kajganich and Hugh, the series is executive produced by David W. Zucker, Alexandra Milchan, Scott Lambert and Guymon Casady.

The Terror premieres Monday, March 26 at 9 p.m. ET/PT on AMC.
