Transparent, the highly anticipated new dark comedy from Six Feet Under producer Jill Soloway, will premiere on Amazon September 26 in the U.S. and the U.K., the streaming service revealed Wednesday.
Amazon also released new key art and a trailer.
Transparent is a ten episode, half-hour series that explores family, identity, sex, and love. Arrested Development‘s Jeffrey Tambor stars as Maura, who has spent most of her life as Mort—the head of the Pfefferman family. When she reintroduces herself and her new gender to her family, everyone’s secrets finally start to come out. Judith Light, Gaby Hoffmann, Amy Landecker and Jay Duplass also star.
Amazon Prime customers can currently stream the pilot episode via the service’s watch apps, or add the entire series to their playlist to watch when it debuts.
