What if, instead of dying, you could be “uploaded” into a virtual reality environment?

Greg Daniels (The Office, Parks and Recreation) explores this concept in Upload, a sci-fi comedy series premiering this May on Amazon Prime Video.

Set nearly 15 years in the future, the series follows app developer Nathan (Robbie Amell) who—after a nearly fatal car crash—must choose between surgery or dying. The latter allows his consciousness to be uploaded into a digital afterlife, which exposes him to talking dogs, in-app food purchases, and a budding romance with a customer service representative (who happens to still be alive).

The Black Mirror-esque series is executive produced by Daniels and Howard Klein. All 10 episodes are available to stream May 1 on Amazon Prime Video.
