IFC’s horror-comedy starring John C. McGinley, Stan Against Evil, returns for season three, appropriately, on Halloween at 10 p.m. ET/PT for an eight-episode season.

The season picks up right where it left off with Willard’s Mill retired sheriff Stan (McGinley) working with current sheriff Evie Barrett (Janet Varney) to close a portal to hell he inadvertently opened while traveling back in time to save his dead wife, Claire. Now demons and other evil forces are taking over the town.

Besides McGinley and Varney, Stan Against Evil stars Deborah Baker Jr. and Nate Mooney as Denise Miller, Stan’s daughter, and Deputy Leon Drinkwater, Evie’s right-hand man. The season also will feature new and returning guest stars this season including 30 Rock’s Scott Adsit, Maria Bamford, Matt Braunger, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Eddie Pepitone.

The series is created, written and executive produced by Dana Gould, with Tom Lassally also serving as executive producer. RadicalMedia produces the series with Frank Scherma and Justin Wilkes executive producing. McGinley also serves as a producer.
