A+E Networks will revamp History en Español (HEE) on November 7, with a brand new on-air look, improved programming strategy and double the number of premiere hours.
The channel was launched in 2004 and features the best of History’s programming in Spanish. Among the new lineup are the docuseries Barbarians Rising, fact-based shows such as Hunting Hitler and Pawn Stars, and new scripted series.
History en Español has also set the premiere of Embajadores de la Mafia, examining the penetration of the Italian-American mafia into Latin America. In addition, the channel is planning a Spanish-language Facebook fan page.
“We’re injecting HEE’s primetime schedule with new genres of programming to serve an even wider segment of the growing Hispanic audience throughout the US as we continue to grow our channel,” said Edward Sabin, managing director, Americas, and head of commercial operations, international.
The November 7 relaunch will include primetime programming featuring nightly vertical themes: “High Octane Auto” (Mondays), a new season of American Restoration (Tuesdays), “Epic Mysteries” (Wednesdays), “Wild History” (Thursdays) and kicking off the weekend throughout November is the three-hour “The Hidden Truth” block, featuring HEE premieres of Last Days of the Nazis and Hunting Hitler.
HEE is widely distributed in the U.S. with partners including AT&T, Comcast, Dish, DirecTV and Verizon.
