Premiere week rolled on Sunday night, with CBS debuting Wisdom of the Crowd, starring Jeremy Piven; Fox opening Ghosted, starring Adam Scott and Craig Robinson; and ABC launching Ten Days in the Valley.
Meanwhile, NBC aired Sunday Night Football with the Seattle Seahawks clobbering the Indianapolis Colts 46-18 and averaged a 11.0 rating in households, flat compared to last year, and down 5 percent from the prior week. The game pulled in a 4.5 in the key adults 18-49 demographic and 13.2 million viewers, although Nielsen is expected to significantly adjust those numbers.
Wisdom of the Crowd and Ghosted tied in the key adults 18-49 demographic at a 1.4 each, although CBS had many, many more viewers, with 8.9 million to Ghosted’s 3.6 million.
CBS led its night with 60 Minutes, which averaged a 2.2 in the demo and 12 million viewers, followed by the season nine debut of NCIS: Los Angeles, which scored a 1.2 in the demo and 8.5 million viewers, down approximately 20 percent in the time slot, according to Variety.
Fox aired its Sunday night comedy block with its shows even to up from last year. Bob’s Burgers kicked off at 7 p.m. ET/PT. The Emmy-winning animated comedy averaged a 1.3 among adults 18-49 and 3 million viewers, up more than 10 percent from the season-seven premiere.
The rest of Fox’s line-up was steady compared to last year. At 7:30 p.m., The Simpsons debuted season 29 with a 1.4 in the demo and 3.3 million viewers. Following Ghosted, Family Guy opened season 15 with a 1.3 in the adults 18-49 and 2.9 million viewers. Finally, season four of Last Man on Earth, starring Will Forte, averaged a 0.9 in the demo and 2.3 million viewers.
Ten Days in the Valley, which is only airing ten episodes, might also only be on the air for ten days. The show had the lowest premiere yet among the new series, with a 0.6 among adults 18-49 and 3.5 million viewers. ABC led into the show with The Toy Box, which also turned in a very low 0.4 among adults 18-49 and 2.2 million viewers and Shark Tank, which climbed to a 1.1 in the key demo and 4.7 million viewers.
