According to 1911’s Women’s Rules of Basketball, female players are to “avoid everything masculine,” “pride yourself in modesty” and “talk only about things you understand.”

But in the words of Mississippi’s Teaira McCowan, “rules are meant to be broken.”

Set to Katy Perry’s “Hey Hey Hey,” Nutmeg’s tease that aired before the women’s NCAA Final Four and Championship Games juxtaposed historical photos and recreations with present-day players in a music-video-style tribute to “all the women who ever picked up a ball.”

And let’s be clear: none of those aforementioned rules apply to them.
