“This place is a disaster, and has proven itself to be a life-threatening risk to anyone that attends,” according to Sony Crackle’s trailer for Rob Riggle’s Ski Master Academy.
The eight-episode comedy focuses on Riggle, known for his jet-ski master movies, investing all of his money and reputation into a school celebrating “America’s truest art form … personal watercraft riding.”
Between scenarios where “safety is overrated”—as demonstrated by giant mouse traps and multiple explosions—Riggle, along with his legendary stuntman commandant Dirk Hamsteak (Billy Merritt, Happy Endings) and a staff of instructors, spend a semester defending the Academy no many how many people criticize it, go missing or die.
The cast also includes Dermont Mulroney (My Best Friend’s Wedding), Christopher McDonald (Happy Gilmore), Noël Wells (Master of None), David Arquette (Amanda & Jack Go Glamping, Cleaners), Jamie-Lynn Sigler (The Sopranos), Jamie Chung (Big Hero 6), Haley Joel Osment (Future Man, Silicon Valley), Paul Scheer (The League), Richard Anthony “Cheech” Marin (Up In Smoke), Britt Baron (Glow), Eliza Coupe (Future Man, Scrubs), Dave (Gruber) Allen (Love), Alison Rich (The Goldbergs), Carl Tart (Comedy Bang! Bang!), Samm Levine (Freaks and Geeks), Rizwan Manji (Mr. Robot) and NFL hall of famer Brian Urlacher.
Riggle, Jonathan Stern, Keith Quinn, Bennett Webber, Chris Pizzi, Tom Lesinski and Jenna Santoianni serve as executive producers. Rob Riggle’s Ski Master Academy is produced by Sonar Entertainment (Mr. Mercedes) and Abominable Pictures (Wet Hot American Summer).
It premieres Monday, August 23, with a special advance debut on Amazon Fire TV through the Sony Crackle app starting Monday, August 13.
