The sheriff has “some tragic news to share,” Archie has a gun and a steamy shower scene sparks plenty of speculation in the season two trailer for The CW’s Riverdale.

The Shop crafted what it calls a “dark and thrilling ride” of a spot with subtle but foreboding sound design, and used haunting editorial to ratchet up the anticipation.

A loose adaption of the classic Archie comics, Riverdale returns October 11.
