When everything is at stake, will you stand up as Washington D.C.’s last line of defense?
That’s the question at hand in Tom Clancy’s The Division 2, as players must work together to stop the enemy from taking over the capital.
The cinematic trailer, which debuted at Gamescom, features iconic landmarks and realistic environments, and also provides a look at some of the gameplay. The sequel picks up about six months later as a civil war is raging, and players assume the role of civilian sleeper agents part who are part of The Division, which is working to rebuild the fractured city.
Developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft, the game is set to be released March 15, but pre-orders are currently available. And those who purchase ahead of time will be able to assess closed beta, as well as the Capitol Defender Pack with in-game items that include the “Lullaby” shotgun and a hazmat outfit.
Ubisoft also offers standard, gold and digital ultimate editions of the game, which will be released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
Compared to its predecessor, The Division 2 aims to include more content when at launch, as well as an improved endgame.
“We are making sure we give them that deep gear game and customization we know they’re after,” Terry Spier, assistant creative director at Ubisoft subsidiary Red Storm, told Variety. “And we’re making sure we deliver on this setting. I think the brand itself is now known for one-to-one creations of the world.”
