The world’s legions of Game of Thrones fanatics will have yet another way to live out their fantasies when HBO, Devolver Digital and Nerial release “Reigns: Game of Thrones” mobile game in October.

The game, which will be available for iOS, Android and PC for $3.99, is based on a relatively simple construct: the player is given two choices over hundreds of scenarios and has to make a yes or no choice by swiping left or right, much like Tinder but for gaming instead of dating. Each choice leads to a series of consequences that ultimately plays out in victory or death. As Cersei Lannister would say: “In the game of thrones, you win or you die.”

The game is based on the HBO series as well as George R. R. Martin’s books, but it also allows for scenarios as yet unimagined in either, such as what would happen if Sansa Stark married Jaime Lannister. Players can sit the Iron Throne as many of their favorite characters from the series, including Daenerys Targaryen, Jon Snow, Cersei Lannister, Tyrion Lannister and Sansa Stark. Players see the outcomes of their decisions via visions delivered through fire by none other than Melisandre, the Red Witch.

“Reigns” is already popular in its own right, having launched in 2016 as a simple strategy game in which players try to rule a fictional kingdom. In 2017, Nerial and Devolver released “Reigns: her Majesty,” which allowed players to try their hand as an omnipotent female ruler, a la Cersei or Daenerys.
