“Veronica, Heather Chandler is looking for you.”

The line kicks off the first promo for the series Heathers, set to debut on the soon-to-launch Paramount Network that will replace Spike TV in early 2018.

Based on the 1988 cult classic film, Heathers is a 10-episode dark comedy anthology set in present times. The promo aired during MTV’s Video Music Awards, and the teaser was sure to include an iconic quote from the film: “F—k me gently with a chainsaw.”

In the series, Veronica Sawyer (Grace Victoria Cox) and her boyfriend J.D. (James Scully), deal with “a very different but equally vicious group of Heathers: Heather Chandler (Melanie Field), Heather Duke (Brendan Scannell) and Heather McNamara (Jasmine Mathews).

Paramount Network posted videos highlighting the Westerburg High School trio and other characters on the show.

Heathers is set to premiere in 2018.
