The growing popularity of these victory laps is a way for networks to make one final push for positive buzz and a graceful exit as the television landscape gets ever-more crowded with quality series.
This year’s Winter Press Tour featured saw no fewer than four departing series rub shoulders with the new shows hoping to step into their spotlight when they leave, according to Variety.
Mad Men, Parks and Recreation, Nurse Jackie and Justified all stepped into that hotel ballroom in Pasadena for one more go.
