Erica Kern has been promoted to creative director at Silver Spring, Md.-based creative agency AlterEgo where she will lead the post production team.

“Erica has been an invaluable voice in writing our story,” said AlterEgo Partner Heather Roymans in a statement. “She has always been a true creative partner and a sounding board for me on many of our projects. Her distinct copywriting skills combined with an eye for color, detail and composition have and will continue to shape how we evolve. She’s a real quiet and unassuming creative ninja and I love that about her. In her new role as Creative Director she will continue to push us all in imaginative ways.”

Kern has been at the agency for the past five years as associate creative director, working on projects spanning design, animation, live action and post.

Most recently, she played instrumental roles in the Conjuring Kesha campaign for Discovery Plus, the launch of Muslim lifestyle streaming service Qalbox, and the 2022 “World Stage” Tennis Channel brand campaign.

“At AlterEgo, the variety of clients we partner with and the projects they bring has always kept me on my toes. I continuously find myself excited for the next challenge whether it’s exploring the supernatural with superstars or launching a brand new streaming service from half a world away,” said Kern, also in a statement.

“Erica always brings her problem solving skills, genuine curiosity and a zest for learning to every project opening doors to creative possibility. She fits right in as a forever student and her ability to build upon what she knows is a true testament to how much she loves pushing herself and the team,” continued Roymans.

Besides the above-mentioned projects, AlterEgo offers production and post production services with in-house capabilities in directing, cinematography, creative directing, editing, writing, producing, design, animation and sound design. Its clients include AMC Networks, Discovery, HBO Max, ID, Nat Geo, OWN, PBS, Sundance Now, TLC, Travel and more.
