This July, CBS Corp. will launch premium cable network Showtime’s over-the-top service, with Apple as its first partner.

The new service, called Showtime, will cost $10.99 per month and its July 12 launch will coincide with the season premieres of the network’s Ray Donovan, starring Liev Schreiber, and Masters of Sex, starring Michael Sheen and Lizzy Caplan.

Initially, iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and Apple TV users will be able to subscribe to the stand-alone service to view on all Apple devices. Additional platforms and providers will be announced soon, said Leslie Moonves, CBS Corp. president and CEO, and Matthew C. Blank, Showtime Networks chairman and CEO.

“Going over-the-top means Showtime will be much more accessible to tens of millions of potential new subscribers,” said Moonves in a statement. “Across CBS, we are constantly finding new ways to monetize our programming by capitalizing on opportunities presented by technology. This works best when you have outstanding premium content – like we do at Showtime – and when you have a terrific partner like Apple – which continues to innovate and build upon its loyal customer base.”

Subscribers will have unlimited on-demand access to every season of Showtime’s original series, and hundreds of hours of movies, documentary and sports programming, as well as the live broadcast of the network’s East and West coast feeds. Showtime will offer a 30-day free trial to new customers who sign up through Apple in July.
