Hernan Bornas is Cause+Effect’s new senior editor, the New York-based creative agency said Tuesday.
“We’ve been searching for some time for an editor who is not only a creative powerhouse, but also a leader,” said Jason Zemlicka, Cause+Effect co-founder and executive producer in a statement. “We’re fortunate to have found that in Hernan, and we look forward to him carrying our editorial team forward.”
Born and raised in Argentina and Australia, Bornas earned his degree in film and television from Melbourne University, Victorian College of the Arts. He began his career as a writer/director, but has since found himself gravitating toward editing.
Shortly after moving to New York City in 2005, Bornas began his long-running relationship with Viacom, editing for MTV Networks and Nick at Nite. Before joining C+E, Bornan was the Managing Video Editor at TVLand, where he helped strategize the network’s branding shift from classic television to original programming.
Creative studio Cause+Effect specializes in branded content, design and animation, live-action and brand marketing. Its client roster includes Hulu, National Geographic, Intel and Comedy Central.
