Andy Samberg’s hot-shot/class-clown character in Fox’s upcoming cop show, “Brooklyn Nine-Nine,” does not like to be ignored. Fox kindly gave in by gifting him with two full hours of primetime in which to goof around and show his stuff.

​To promote the show’s fall premiere, Fox is devoting its entire Wednesday primetime block to the new show’s promos and behind-the-scenes videos. That means that the two hours of “MasterChef” will feature breaks of already-released promos, like “Scene” below, as well as scenes from cast photo shoots and other video footage.

Brief Take: Using summer hits—if they have them—to promote fall launches can be a major strength for the broadcast networks. According to Fox, “MasterChef” is one of its best shows in 18-49 demographics—exactly the group the network wants to win over.
