Los Angeles-based creative agency yU+co evoked the spirit of the 1970s in these main titles for FX on Hulu’s Mrs. America, starring Cate Blanchett as conservative icon Phyllis Schlafly.

The titles are illustrated and animated as if they are pencil sketches painted with watercolors in a warm palette drawn straight from the decade.

Said yU+co in an email: “We wanted to create a piece that is like the show itself: it feels faithful to the time period but is fresh and relevant today.

Mrs. America premiered Wednesday, April 15 on FX on Hulu.
