While much of the crowded TV landscape gets more serious and darker by the day, Pop TV aims to be an escape for viewers.

“Escape to the good new days,” says Pop’s sizzle reel, asking critics to remember when TV was “fun, joyful” and “refreshing.”

Three years ago today Pop rebranded from being a utility listening channel that told viewers to go to other channels into a purveyor of original and classic content.

They’re clearly jazzed by the move, as the channel, operated in partnership by CBS and Lionsgate, boasts growing ratings, distributors and ad sales.

“Pop is growing ratings across all days and having a ***t ton of fun doing it,” said Pop President Brad Schwartz.

To celebrate its birthday, Pop TV announced the cast of its forthcoming supernatural comedy The Demons of Dorian Gunn.

Executive produced by Krysten Ritter (Jessica Jones) and Jax Media, the series will star Jeffery Self (Search Party), Chrissie Fit (Pitch Perfect 3), H. Jon Benjamin (Archer), Lateefah Holder (Disjointed) and Kyle Harris (High Maintenance).

The comedy comes from UCB veterans Evan Greenspoon and Brandon Scott Jones and tracks a tarnished New York socialite’s journey into becoming a demon hunter. The Demons of Dorian Gunn starts production this month in New York.

The network also discussed Clique, a drama hailing from the same team as the hit Brit show Skins.

Envisioned as a show in the mold of Gossip Girl and Pretty Little Liars, Clique pits childhood soulmates against each other in a university when one of them gets ushered into an elite group of alpha girls and a dark mystery.

A co-production between Pop and the BBC, Clique has garnered a season-two pickup from the network before it even premiered. Both seasons will air back to back this summer.

Before that, Pop will unveil Let’s Get Physical on Wednesday, January 24 at 8:30 p.m. The aerobics competition comedy stars Breaking Bad’s Matt Jones, Silicon Valley’s Chris Diamantopoulos, 90210’s AnnaLynne McCord and Jane Seymour.

The network’s biggest hit, Schitt’s Creek, will act as the show’s lead-in when it returns on the same day at 8 pm to premiere its fourth season.

Hollywood Darlings, the improvised comedy that features child stars Jodie Sweeten (Full House), Christine Lakin (Step by Step) and Beverley Mitchell (7th Heaven) all grown up (sort of), returns for a second season on Wednesday, April 18.

Pop also announced that Celebrity Big Brother After Dark will air seven nights a week for three weeks as alternative programming to NBC’s Winter Olympics in February.
