How long does it take to bury the truth?

That’s what Netflix’s series Seven Seconds asks after a white cop accidentally hits and critically injures a black teenager.

“My son laid in the cold, in pain, for house, and whoever did this is free,” says Regina King (American Crime), who plays the boy’s mother Latrice Butler.

The series also stars Clare-Hope Ashitey (Doctor Foster), Russell Hornsby (Fences), Beau Knapp (Sand Castle), Michael Mosley (Ozark), David Lyons (Safe Haven), Raul Castillo (Special Correspondents), Zackary Momoh (A United Kingdom), Nadia Alexander (Blame), and Coley Speaks (Circle).

The anthology crime drama, set in a northeastern city, explores the human stories behind the headlines, digging into the racial tensions, an attempted cover up and its aftermath, and a major trial.

Seven Seconds is from creator and executive producer Veena Sud (The Killing). The 10-episode series debuts February 23 on Netflix.
