WGN America’s first scripted project, “Salem,” debuted last week to 2.3 million viewers, beginning a story with dark undertones. For its second episode on April 27, it’s taken that a bit further, adding in an opening sequence that is set to “Cupid Carries a Gun” by composer Tyler Bates with vocals by Marilyn Manson.

The new grisly main titles sequence is illustrated largely in subdued tones, showing scenes of violence and accusation against the community’s supposed witches. Keeping with the tone of the show, “Cupid Carries a Gun,” offers a dark attitude that fits right in with the series’ aesthetics.
