Creative Director Filipe Carvalho, working with Untold Studios and ECD Filfury, used actual war photography to devise a realistic feel for the main titles of Paramount Plus’ Special Ops: Lioness. The series, from Yellowstone’s Taylor Sheridan, stars Zoe Saldana as the leader of an all-female special ops team who has to balance her risky work with being a wife and mom.
Carvalho and team worked with war photographer Lynsey Addario to capture the look he wanted, Cavalho told Stash. London, Los Angeles and Mumbai-based Untold and its Executive Producer Luke Colson have a history with Sheridan, working with him on the main titles for Yellowstone prequel 1883 and, in conjunction with main-title maven Elastic, Mayor of Kingstown.
Besides Saldaña, the series also stars Laysla De Oliviera, Michael Kelly, Morgan Freeman, Dave Annable and Nicole Kidman. The series is executive produced by Taylor Sheridan, David C. Glasser, Saldaña, Kidman, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Jill Wagner, Geyer Kosinski, Michael Malone and John Hillcoat.
Its produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, and distributed by Paramount Global Content Distribution.
Special Ops: Lioness premiered its first two episodes on Paramount Plus on Monday, July 23.
