Munich-based United Senses went above and beyond for the FIBA Basketball World Cup, designing individual opens for each of the tournament’s 92 games taking place in the Philippines, Japan and Indonesia.

Jakarta

Okinawa

To make that extensive project doable, United Senses created a branding system and then incorporated it throughout each piece. The agency filmed aerial shots in all of the host’s cities – Jakarta, Manila and Okinawa – and then filmed kids playing basketball in an Unreal dome, allowing United Senses to switch backgrounds as needed. That edit was then transferred to an Unreal setup, which allowed the agency to create individual game pairings with a short turnover time. Each spot features 3D graphics, which pop against the high-definition drone footage of the cities.

The spots are set to a World Cup version of United Senses’ FIBA anthem.

The FIBA Basketball World Cup tips off Friday, August 25.
