BET extended Friday’s “106 & Park” to two hours to cover Mandela’s life and death, beginning with a special news report entitled “Mandela: Freedom’s Father.”

Many of the major network and cable news divisions have also slated special coverage.

ABC’s “20/20” Friday was transformed into a special episode hosted by Robin Roberts and Dave Muir entitled “Nelson Mandela: A Man Who Changed the World.”
