November tends to be a great month for TV viewing.
It contains the November sweeps, not as all-important as it once was but still the first time all markets get to see how all of the new shows are performing. With year-round programming now the norm, lots of new shows debut in November. And it’s a great month for sports, with the World Series fielding Game 7 on Nov. 2, the NBA and NHL getting underway, the NFL picking up steam, and all the college football you can watch over Thanksgiving weekend.
Saturday Night Live will try to inject some levity into the rough 2016 election on Monday, Nov. 7, with its 2016 Election Special featuring Alec Baldwin and Kate McKinnon reprising their roles as Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton.
Once past that, two cable networks take scripted swings, with National Geographic debuting Mars, on Monday, Nov. 14 and TNT launching Good Behavior, starring Downton Abbey‘s Michelle Dockery, on Tuesday, Nov. 15.
Several new shows are coming to the streaming services, including The Crown on Netflix Friday, Nov. 4; season two of Steven Soderbergh’s Red Oaks on Amazon Friday, Nov. 11, and Netflix’s much-anticipated Gilmore Girls’ reunion on Friday, Nov. 25.
Good thing the holidays are coming to give us a little time to watch it all!
