The Television Academy pulled off a big promo win on Tuesday by releasing a new digital video featuring three of TV’s biggest stars: Bryan Cranston, Aaron Paul, and Julia Louis-Dreyfus.
The very clever—and now very successful marketing asset—features Cranston and Paul spoofing the pawn shop owners found on several popular reality series these days.
JLD heads into the shop to try to hock something very personal.
All three actors are previous Emmy winners.
As anyone in the industry knows, it’s hard to create something with the specific intention of making it go viral. But the Academy and their agency—PMK-BNC—nailed it with this one.
Audi is the presenting sponsor for the spot.
The 66th Primetime Emmy Awards will air live Monday, August 25, 8pm EST/5pm PDT on NBC.
