In what’s perhaps a clue to what’s to come on Sunday, August 25, HBO’s True Detective and Netflix’s Orange is the New Black emerged as big winners at this weekend’s Creative Arts Emmys.

Both shows are nominated as Outstanding Drama and Comedy, respectively, and both are in positions to upset last year’s victors, AMC’s Breaking Bad and ABC’s Modern Family.

True Detective took home four wins, including wins for casting, cinematography and its stunning main title design. Other shows to claim four trophies were HBO’s Game of Thrones, nominated for an overall 19 Emmys and another best-drama contender; Fox/NatGeo TV’s Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey and PBS’ Sherlock: His Last Vow.

Orange is the New Black’s Uzo Abuda, who plays Crazy Eyes in the prison comedy, received the award for outstanding guest actress in a comedy, while the series also won best casting in a comedy series and single-camera editing in a comedy to bring its total to four.

Jimmy Fallon was named outstanding guest actor in a comedy series, for his hosting appearance on Saturday Night Live last December. That episode also won for directing. Overall, SNL was the night’s comedy leader with five wins.

On the drama side, Scandal’s Joe Morton was named best guest actor, and Masters of Sex’s Allison Janney, also nominated as best comedy supporting actress for CBS’ Mom, won for best guest actress. Janney has previously won four times for her work on NBC’s The West Wing.

Reality was divided into two new categories — structured and unstructured — but the winners were old Emmy favorites. Discovery’s Deadliest Catch won for unstructured (documentary style) and ABC’s Shark Tank won for structure.

Fox’s Bob Burgers was named outstanding animated program, beating out such vets as Comedy Central’s South Park and Futurama.

CNN’s Anthony Bourdain: Parts Unknown and HBO’s Vice tied for the win among informational series, while PBS’ American Masters and Showtime’s Year of Living Dangerously tied for the win in the nonfiction/documentary category.
