Entertainment and sports media brand consultancy and marketing innovations agency Troika has named Kasumi Mihori as its new creative director.

With more than 20 years of creative experience specializing in large scale, high-profile branding initiatives, Kasumi has worked with almost every major network, broadcast and media company.

She plans to relocate from Turner Studios in Atlanta, Ga. She is the agency’s sixth creative director, and will report to Dan Pappalardo, founder and CEO of Troika.

“I’ve known Kasumi for over 20 years and I have tremendous respect for the career she’s built with some of the seminal brands recognized around the world,” Pappalardo said in a statement. “Kasumi joins the team at Troika with a deep entertainment pedigree and tremendous insight and knowledge of where the world of media is headed these days.”

Kasumi received an Emmy Award for the 25th Anniversary Title Sequence of Wonderful World of Disney that she directed. The spot included both live action and CG, as well as custom logo design and music. Her work has been featured on major television networks, cable networks, popular television shows, commercials, social media and the Internet.

Over a two-decade career, Kasumi has specialized in creative team management, client relations and elevation of brand integrity with a focus on ROI, strategy, change management, and audience engagement.

She has a strong focus on creative direction, including 360-degree marketing initiatives on multiple platforms as well as the directing of design, live-action, animation, post-production and development of original music.

Her experience in the U.S. includes working with Disney/ABC, NBC Universal, CBS, Fox, Warner Brothers Studio, CNN, ESPN, PBS, Disney Channel and Discovery. Kasumi’s broadcast work also includes TBS, TNT, TCM, Cartoon Network, NBA, Adult Swim, NBA-TV, Turner Sports, MTV and VH1.

Internationally, she has worked with Discovery Channel (Canada), CTV (Canadian Television), Family Channel (Canada), Stream (Italy), ION, and Clubhouse Children’s Network (Germany), British SKY Broadcasting (UK), CBC (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation), and Fox International.

Kasumi also has experience working with agencies, including DDB, Deutsch, TBWA Chiat/Day, Ogilvy & Mather, McCann-Erickson, Saatchi & Saatchi, Team One Advertising, and BBDO.
