Robert Madden was named senior vice president of marketing, creative, communications and brand strategy at Travel Channel on Monday.

In his new role, Madden will oversee the channel’s consumer marketing, creative services and communications departments, and be responsible for brand strategy and development, network positioning and communications, and all on-air and off-air marketing initiatives.

He will report to Travel Channel President Shannon O’Neill, and be based in the network’s Washington, D.C.-area offices, beginning December 1.

“Bob is a unique executive who combines strong leadership skills with a savvy business perspective. He is smart, innovative and strategic, and will lead our efforts to extend the Travel Channel brand across multiple media platforms and grow our audience,” O’Neill said Monday.
