To highlight the importance of mobility, Toyota takes a journey with people of all colors, races, creeds and abilities aged one to 100.

“Movement is a human word,” intones the voiceover. “It’s something we all deserve, whether we’re taking our first steps or our victory laps. Because when we’re free to move, anything is possible.”

Achieving the seemingly impossible is a hallmark of the upcoming 2018 Winter Olympics and Paralympics. Ahead of those events, of which the global auto maker has been a sponsor for the past eight years, it launched its “Start Your Impossible” campaign, the first that Toyota has ever released simultaneously in 24 countries. An additional 15 countries will come board before the start of the Games in Pyeongchang, South Korea, in February.

Nine additional spots are planned that will highlight both Toyota’s efforts and innovation around mobility, as well as further inspirational stories.

Athletes highlighted in the initial spot include Tatyana McFadden, the world’s leading wheelchair racer who has won 17 Paralympic medals across five Games for the USA; Brad Snyder, American Paralympic swimmer, former captain of the U.S. Naval Academy swim team and three-time gold medalist at the Paralympic Games Rio 2016; and Rami Anis, a swimmer from Syria, part of the Refugee Olympic Team at the Olympic Games Rio 2016.

More will be featured in upcoming short films.

Helping Toyota with the campaign are Saatchi & Saatchi in Los Angeles and Dallas, and Dentsu in Tokyo.
