Tod Caflisch has been named chief technology for Los Angeles-based Troika Media Group, where he will develop and lead FandomConnect, Troika’s new live engagement platform.
“Tod is an innovator in sports technology and a visionary with passion to transform technology into new media and revenue opportunities,” said Jeffrey Schwartz, Troika’s chairman of the board, in a statement. “His leadership and experience in both technical and sports business management in combination with Troika’s creative and marketing expertise will help create new opportunities for clients and play a key role in the growth and future success of the company.”
Caflisch comes to Troika from the National Football League’s Minnesota Vikings, where he was the team’s first vice president and chief technical officer. There, he launched the team’s new U.S Bank Stadium in 2016 as well as led the technology design and implementation of the Vikings’ new practice facility and mixed-use development projects.

Prior to joining the Vikings, Caflisch was director of information technology for the National Hockey League’s Detroit Red Wings, vice president of information technology for the National Basketball Association’s Memphis Grizzlies, vice president of information technology for the NBA’s New Orleans Hornets and director of information technology for the NBA’s San Antonio Spurs, where he was part of four NBA championships.
He’s also served as an advisory board member of Sports & Entertainment Alliance Technology for 10 years. He earned his bachelor’s degree from Framingham State University.
