Just over two weeks out (!!!) from the debut of the eighth and final season of HBO’s worldwide blockbuster, Game of Thrones, the network debuted the show’s final poster. Obsessive fans all over the world are now poring over the choice to turn a throne into a dragon and the fantasy series nears its epic end.

Let’s take a trip down memory lane and see what the other posters had to tell us about what was to come.

Season 1

Remember when the show launched and HBO put Sean Bean on the poster and we all believed he was the show’s star? Ha ha, joke’s on us.

Season 2

The pieces were moving around the chess board in season two, leading viewers to think some characters were winning while others were losing. In the end, nothing was as it seemed.

Season 3

The dragons were growing larger in this season, but the true shadow was cast during the “Red Wedding” in the season’s penultimate episode.

Season 4

The Red Wedding was followed up by the far more satisfying Purple Wedding, which also was the event that sent Sansa Stark (Sophie Turner) on a journey East and then North with Littlefinger (Aiden Gillen), and Tyrion Lannister (Peter Dinklage) on a journey South with Varys (Conleth Hill).

Season 5

This season ended with the ultimate cliffhanger, leaving fans counting the months until the shows return.

Season 6

Game of Thrones really showed off its chops in this season with two huge episodes: “The Battle of the Bastards,” and “Winds of Winter.” The poster had fans guessing as several favorites were depicted in the famous Hall of Faces, where skinned faces of the dead are kept for use by the assassins known as Faceless Men.

Season 7

Daenerys (Emilia Clarke) finally makes her way across the narrow sea to Westeros to stake her claim to the seven kingdoms and Jon Snow (Kit Harrington) takes up his reign as King in the North. The Night King, pictured below, also makes his presence well known.

The eighth and final season of HBO’s Game of Thrones returns Sunday, April 14.
