The strange combination of sex, magick and rocket science returns in season two of CBS All Access’ Strange Angel on Thursday, June 13.

The drama, which tells the true story of rocket scientist Jack Parsons (Jack Reynor), is set during World War II. Parsons is working furiously to transform his work with his team at Cal-Tech in rocketry into a lucrative venture with the nation’s military industrial complex.

Meanwhile, Jack also is exploring his interest in the occult, practicing so-called sex magick rituals as a devotee to the religion Thelema, created by Aleister Crowley (Angus Macfadyen). Jack is joined in that practice by his wife, Susan (Bella Heathcote).

Rupert Friend (Homeland) and Peter Mark Kendall also star.

Strange Angel is created by Mark Heyman (Black Swan) and is based on George Pendle’s book of the same title. The series is produced by CBS Television Studios in association with Scott Free Productions. Mark Heyman, David DiGilio, Ridley Scott and David W. Zucker serve as executive producers. Clayton Krueger serves as co-executive producer.
