The daring crew of the Rocinante heads beyond the mysterious ring to find planets beyond in The Expanse, which moves to Amazon Prime Video for season four.

The first planet they encounter is Ilus, which already has been colonized by Belters (people who live in the asteroid belt), but is rich with natural resources and is therefore attracting attention.

The show stars Steven Strait as Rocinante Captain Jim Holden, along with his chief engineer (and on-and-off girlfriend) Naomi Nagata (Dominique Tipper), pilot Alex Kamal (Cas Anvar), and mechanic and heavy Amos Burton (Wes Chatham). The crew is on an official UN mission sanctioned by Chrisjen Avasarala, deputy undersecretary of executive administration (Shoreh Aghdashloo).

Naren Shankar returns as showrunner for the series, which is based on the novels of James S.A. Corey and developed and scripted by Mark Fergus and Hawk Ostby. Fergus, Ostby and Shankar executive produce along with Andrew Kosove, Broderick Johnson, Laura Lancaster, Sharon Hall, Sean Daniel, Jason Brown, Daniel Abraham, Ty Franck and Dan Nowak. The Expanse season 4 is produced by Alcon Television Group.

Season four premieres on Amazon Prime Video on Dec. 13. New key art is below:
