In season two of HBO’s Perry Mason, starring Matthew Rhys in the title role, Mason finds himself in the center of a complicated case after the scion of one of Los Angeles’ powerful oil families is brutally murdered in 1933. While the District Attorney (Justin Kirk, who joins the cast in season two) tries to point a finger at someone in one of the city’s Hoovervilles, Mason, his imperturbable legal secretary Della Street (Juliet Rylance) and former Los Angeles policeman Paul Drake (Chris Chalk) begin discovering far-reaching conspiracies.

Season two will also feature Shea Whigham returning as investigator Paul Strickland, but this time he will be on the other side of Mason working for the DA. Sean Astin also comes on board as Mason’s client, Sunny Gryce.

The season also stars Eric Lange, Diarra Kilpatrick, Katherine Waterston, Hope Davis, Fabrizio Guido, Peter Mendoza, Mark O’Brien, Paul Raci, Jen Tullock, Jon Chaffin, Onahoua Rodriguez, Jee Young Han, Tommy Dewey and Wallace Langham.

Executive producers are Jack Amiel, Michael Begler, Amanda Burrell, Robert Downey Jr., Susan Downey, Joe Horacek, Rhys and Tim Van Patten. Regina Heyman is co-executive producer. Perry Mason is based on characters created by Erle Stanley Gardner.

Season two of Perry Mason returns Monday, March 6 and will be stream on HBO Max.
