The aptly titled trailer “Fear” for season three of The Strain shows a world where “paranoia has reached every corner of the globe.”

The FX series picks up “23 days after the world as we knew it seeks to exist,” and New York struggles to survive amid vampire-ridden streets.

Dr. Ephraim Goodweather and Dr. Nora Martinez concentrate on creating a biological weapon to wipe out the creatures, as Abraham Setrakian searches for an ancient book he hopes will reveal a way to kill them.

The thriller is based off of “The Strain Trilogy” novels by Guillermo del Toro and Chuck Hogan, who serve as co-creators, executive producers and writers, along with showrunner, executive producer, writer and director Carlton Cuse.

Season three of The Strain premieres Sunday, August 28 at 10 p.m.
