As a global production music company, Warner Chappell Production Music (WCPM) is an established provider in both custom and library music for the trailer and theatrical world, as well as for local television stations, advertising agencies and entertainment marketers.

WCPM’s compositions can be heard in trailers for films such as Old, The Northman and Encanto, and its tracks can also be found across a variety of television networks promoting TV shows such as Young Rock, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, Grey’s Anatomy and The Righteous Gemstones. It offers one of the strongest music libraries catering to the advertising space as well as music complementing major campaigns for Verizon, Apple, Bud Light and Google, to name a few.

Rapid expansion also has cemented the company with sports clients and teams across the U.S. and in international markets. WCPM recently oversaw the composition, production and recording of the theme for the UAE Soccer League, “Going To War.”

Beyond all of that, WCPM is also a leader in providing custom music for TV stations’ local newscasts.

Consider this scenario: It’s late at night, and a producer needs to find the right music — quickly — to go with an epic promo. They’re sorting through songs but can’t seem to find something that works, and they’re starting to wonder if they’re going to make their deadline.

That struggle just got a whole lot easier, thanks to WCPM’s recently relaunched website. Featuring a robust new search engine and chat feature, it’s easier than ever for clients to find what they’re looking for.

In addition to keyword search, clients have the option to copy and paste a YouTube link or drag and drop a file with any music they like. The search engine analyzes the sound and style and sorts through the entire library to deliver a handful of music options.

“With our added capabilities, you can be looking for cues that sound like a certain reference track and the site will deliver,” said Aaron Gant, WCPM’s senior vice president of production.

“There’s no question that the similar search feature is extremely useful to both us and our clients,” said Mark Agent, senior creative director, licensing. “It’s very intuitive, very user friendly.”

Clients can also upload their own visual to the site and audition different tracks against it. And they can get personalized assistance during expanded business hours by messaging a WCPM team member who will use their knowledge of the catalog to find solutions.

“There’s an extremely satisfying element when you can really create a big win for someone and relieve a lot of stress for that client,” said Marketing Manager Jennifer Stowe. “That’s a really good feeling on our end.

“Since the new site launched in April 2021, Warner Chappell Production Music has added thousands of new users to its base and has seen a substantial increase in downloads,” Stowe said.

In addition, the company opened an upgraded studio in Nashville that’s large enough to host 30 musicians as well as a new studio in the heart of Hollywood that puts it closer to major production clients.

These developments further enhance the company’s knowledge and experience in the production music space. With a 35-year history and as a member of the Warner Music Group family, Warner Chappell Production Music works with some of the industry’s best talent.

“Our composer pool is so large. Our musician pool is so talented,” Gant said. “When you call us, you get a dedicated team of professionals with a deep well of resources.”

“We take great pride in working closely with our incredible music partners and composers. I think that really differentiates us from others,” Gant said.

Working with local TV stations is an important part of their business, and Warner Chappell Production Music specializes in creating custom packages for TV partners.

For instance, WPIX New York created a Daytime Emmy-winning campaign, “We Are New York’s Very Own,” that served as an ode to the city featuring different versions – including the spot below that honors the local heroes who helped manage the COVID-19 pandemic.

The station had a vision and asked Warner Chappell Production Music to help pull it together.

“That piece was an incredible collaboration,” Gant said. “They had local talent create the lyrics and vocals and we composed and recorded a custom music track around that.”

Warner Chappell Production Music recently created custom music for WAAY 31 Huntsville’s “Big Game Friday Night” promo and developed the news music package “In Sink” for WSMV Nashville.

WCPM News Music has its own section on the website making it easy for clients to access both news and production music on the same platform.

“It’s a better hands-on experience for the client,” said Agent.

Both Agent and Gant are committed to doing everything they can to make sure Warner Chappell Production Music’s clients have the highest-quality music in order to help elevate their projects and messaging. Sound is an element that many people may not even be aware of, Gant noted, unless, of course, it’s not up to par. And then it can easily lower the value of a project.

“The way something sounds can instantly make or break a spot — a promo, a TV show, a video, a film, anything,” Gant said. “I think sound is everything in a production. It’s what we do. It’s what we live and breathe.”
