Dame Julie Andrews herself narrates Shondaland’s period drama Bridgerton, which debuts on Christmas Day on Netflix.

The series, from Shonda Rhimes and Gray’s Anatomy and Scandal alumni Chris Van Dusen and based on Julia Quinn’s best-selling novels, follows young debutante Daphne Bridgerton (Phoebe Dynevor), the eldest daughter of the rich and powerful Bridgerton clan, as she enters London’s competitive and catty marriage market. Quickly, Daphne finds herself the center of unwanted attention as Lady Whistledown (Andrews) starts chronicling her comings and goings in her high-society scandal sheet for all the read. And even though she denies it, she finds herself attracted to the highly eligible but committed bachelor Duke of Hastings (Scandal’s Regé-Jean Page), which only intensifies the scrutiny around her.

Besides Andrews, Dynevor and Page, the series also stars Golda Rosheuvel, Jonathan Bailey, Luke Newton, Claudia Jessie, Nicola Coughlan, Ruby Barker, Sabrina Bartlett, Ruth Gemmell, Adjoa Andoh, Polly Walker, Bessie Carter and Harriet Cains.

All eight episodes of Bridgerton make their debut in the U.S. on Christmas Day, December 25.
