Production studio The Mill has opened a new outpost in Seoul, South Korean in the center of the Gangnam District, the company announced.

A presence in Seoul will allow The Mill to “leverage our expertise in visual effects, creative production and experience in the APAC region,” the company said. The Mill’s South Korean clients have included Samsung, Hyundai and game developer Krafton.

Tony Choi has joined the company to lead the new studio as vice president. On the creative side, June Park will lead as executive creative director. Park has experience working for such brands as Kia Motors and Chevrolet as well as Samsung and Hyundai. Prior to joining The Mill, Park was head of the metaverse creative team in Cheil Worldwide and he immersed himself in metaverse content creation as lead creative mind for Samsung’s virtual character Gnusmas.

Mill Seoul will be overseen by Mill Global Chief Strategy Officer Alex Schneider. Prior to joining The Mill, Alex was managing director of R/GA Portland and held senior leadership roles at Deutsch LA and 72andSunny.
