“The girls are gone … missing … presumed dead,” in Amazon Prime Video’s trailer for mystery drama series Picnic at Hanging Rock.

Starring Natalie Dormer (Game of Thrones, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 and 2), the six-episode series is based on Joan Lindsay’s novel of the same name about the disappearances of three schoolgirls and one teacher on Valentine’s Day in 1900 from Australia’s Appleyard Ladies College.

The mini-series revolves around the subsequent investigation and the event’s far-reaching impact on the students, families and staff at the school, and on the nearby township.

Picnic at Hanging Rock debuted at the Berlin International Film Festival, is slated for the Tribeca Film Festival, and becomes available May 25 to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
