Don’t watch any further if you don’t like blood, guts or violence because all three are represented graphically in the above teaser trailer for season three of Prime Video’s The Boys, released during the show’s SXSW panel. The trailer is set to Imagine Dragons’ new song, “Bones.”

The fight continues between Butcher (Karl Urban) and Homelander (Anthony Starr) but it looks like the stakes just got higher as The Butcher acquires some superpowers of his own. In season two, Butcher had finally reconnected with his wife Becca (Shantel VanSanten), whom he thought Homelander had killed. Instead, Butcher learned that Homelander had raped Becca and gotten her pregnant. Their son, Ryan, also turned out to have superpowers, like his father, and both Becca and Ryan have been hidden away all of Ryan’s life. At the end of season two, Ryan, who doesn’t yet know how to use or control his powers, accidentally kills his mother while trying to protect her from Stormfront (Aya Cash), whom he also kills. Now Butcher has hidden Ryan from Homelander again, while his fervor for revenge is even greater.

The trailer also reveals a new supe: Soldier Boy, played by Supernatural’s Jensen Ackles.

Besides Urban, Starr and Ackles, The Boys also stars Jack Quaid, Erin Moriarty, Tomer Capone, Karen Fukuhara, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Laz Alonso, Chace Crawford, Nathan Mitchell, Colby Minifie and Claudia Doumit.

The Boys is based on The New York Times best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Eric Kripke (Supernatural) serves as the series’ showrunner. Executive producers include Kripke, Ennis, Robertson, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Pavun Shetty, Phil Sgriccia, Craig Rosenberg, Ken F. Levin, Jason Netter, Paul Grellong, David Reed, Meredith Glynn and Michaela Starr.

The Boys is produced by Amazon Studios and Sony Pictures Television Studios, with Kripke Enterprises, Original Film and Point Grey Pictures.

Season three of The Boys debuts with three episodes dropping on June 3, and a new episode appearing each week after that until the season finale on July 8. Urban told the SXSW panel that the cast expects to start shooting season four by the end of this year.
