For some, the Spice Girls are merely a fond memory of ‘90s pop music. For Billy Butcher (Karl Urban), they’re an example of what the anti-hero gang, The Boys, must be to defeat The Seven once and for all.

“When they’re apart, they’re absolute fucking rubbish. But you put them together, they’re the goddamn fucking Spice Girls,” Butcher says in the spot.

Amazon Prime Video’s superhero drama shows what happens when the titular gang of vigilantes attempts to take down the world’s mightiest (and most corrupt) superheroes. The spot—laced with hyperviolence, cursing, amputated arms and the Spice Girl’s “Wannabe”—offers a better look at why The Boys come together in the first place.

The series is based on the best-selling comic by Garth Ennis and Darick Robertson. Preacher’s Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg executive produce the series, with Eric Kripke (Supernatural, Timeless) as showrunner and producer.

Laz Alonso, Tomer Capon, Karen Fukuhara, Antony Starr, Erin Moriarty, Dominique McElligott, Jessie T. Usher, Chace Crawford, Nathan Mitchell, Elisabeth Shue, Madelyn Stillwell, and Simon Pegg all co-star.

The Boys drops on Amazon Prime Video Friday, July 26.
