Dragon fights? Check. Wolves with mysterious eyes? Check. Sick guitar riffs? Check.
Teen Titans Go! will launch a four-part special episode, “The Night Begins to Shine,” in which the superheros are once again transported to alternate universe of ‘80s rock.
The episodes focus on covers by CeeLo Green and Puffy AmiYumi of the original “The Night Begins to Shine” song by B.E.R., which first played in the Teen Titans Go! Episode “Slumber Party.” Cyborg lip-synced to it and fans have been hooked ever since. It was then the focal point of the episode “40%, 40%, 20%” which became a cult favorite. “The Night Begins to Shine” special serves as a sequel.
The special event finds Cyborg once again trapped in the animated world powered by his favorite tune, where’s he’s forced to battle a dragon who wants to steal the song for evil purposes. Fall Out Boy and CeeLo Green make cameos as The Titans call upon musicians to free Cyborg from the sci-fi fantasy.
In addition to the two covers of the song, the soundtrack includes a remix from B.E.R. along with two new songs from the band also featured in the special.
The Night Begins to Shine is produced by Warner Bros. and debuts August 1 on Cartoon Network.
