“You have to find other outlets,” Henry Coles (Maddie Hansson) is told in the teaser for YouTube Red’s original series Impulse.
The drama, directed and executive produced by Doug Liman (The Bourne Identity) focuses on the rebellious, isolated 16-year-old girl who has always felt different from her peers and has longed to escape from her seemingly quaint small town.
A traumatic encounter with a classmate triggers something deep within, and she discovers she has the ability to teleport. The newfound power confirms her conviction that he really was different from everybody else, but it also makes her the focus of those who want to control her.
The show is based on the third book in the Jumper series by Steven Gould.
The cast also includes Missi Pyle, Sarah Desjardins, Enuka Okuma, Craig Arnold and David James Elliott. Executive producers include Liman, Gene Klein and Lauren LeFranc, who also serves as showrunner.
Impulse is a Universal Cable Productions show for YouTube and is set to debut this summer.
