Turner Classic Movies (TCM) unveiled two video clips remembering host, author, journalist and beloved TCM personality Robert Osborne, who died on March 6 at age 84.
In honor of his life and work, TCM will salute Osborne this weekend with a 48-hour marathon beginning Saturday, March 18 and running through Sunday, March 19, offering tribute to the film historian and longtime host by sharing some of his very best interviews.
The schedule for the 48-hour marathon can be found through TCM’s official website.
A second clip, below, also honors Osborne’s life.
The marathon will include two other notable offerings. At 8 p.m. Saturday, TCM will repeat Osborne’s initial TCM appearance from April 14, 1994, in which he introduced the first film presented on the channel, the 1939 blockbuster “Gone With the Wind.”
Also airing will be “Robert Osborne’s 20th Anniversary Tribute,” taped at the 2014 film fest. Under the guise that he was to do a Q&A with Alex Trebek, Osborne was surprised onstage by family and famous friends such as Robert Wagner, Eva Marie Saint and Michael Feinstein.
