Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No! will debut the same shark-related phenomenon in a new locale next week on Syfy.

Tara Reid, Ian Ziering and the rest of the chainsaw-wielding crew are back on July 22 to take on Washington, D.C. this time around when a familiar storm hits. Before everyone gets on Twitter to watch and laugh along with the third film, let’s look back on what made the first few campaigns so great.

Sharknado:

The first installment of the social media hit was promoted very simply, in a way everyone could understand: “Sharknado! Sharks. Tornado. Sharknado. Enough said.”

Sharknado 2: The Second One:

With a name straight from a social media contest, The Second One sought to reclaim some of the magic and humor from the first time around.

A trailer kicking off the campaign, complete with epic voice over, calls the second film a “cinematic event.”

And the snarkiest of narrators made an effort to introduce newbies to the New York Sharknado.

Sharknado 3: Oh Hell No!:

And finally, Syfy bills the third installment as the most exciting of trilogies.

“They say the biggest blockbusters come in threes…”

Teasing the multitude of cameos in the third film (Frankie Muniz, Mark Cuban, Kathie Lee & Hoda, Penn & Teller, Ne-Yo, etc.) Sharknado 3‘s campaign’s main message was the reaction to even more sharks: “Oh hell no!”
