Syfy will roll out all ten episodes of horror thriller Nightflyers across all of its platforms in December.
The series will premiere on Syfy on Sunday, Dec. 2, and then that episode will immediately become available on on-demand platforms, including Syfy On Demand, syfy.com and the Syfy app. Episodes 2-5 will then premiere in succession from Monday, Dec. 3 through Thursday, Dec. 6at 10/9c, moving to on-demand viewing after each episode airs on the linear channel.
The following week episodes 6-10 will premiere from Sunday, Dec. 9, through Thursday, Dec. 13, also at 10/9 c.
Syfy also released an all-new promo for the series ahead of New York Comic Con, where the network aired a screening of the first episode followed by a Q&A session with the cast and creators.
Nightflyers is set in the year 2093 and follows a team of scientists as they embark on a mission to find other life forms in the solar system. Unfortunately for them, another life form finds them and it’s hostile and already on their ship.
The series stars Eoin Macken, David Ajala, Gretchen Mol, Jodie Turner-Smith, Angus Sampson, Sam Strike, Maya Eshet, and Brían F. O’Byrne. It’s based on a novella by George R. R. Martin, author of A Game of Thrones who serves as an executive producer.
Jeff Buhler wrote the adaptation for television and is the showrunner and executive producer, alongside Gene Klein, David Bartis and Doug Liman of Hypnotic who also executive produce. Brian Nelson, Mike Cahill and Andrew McCarthy serve as executive producers. Alison Rosenzweig and Michael Gaeta of Gaeta Rosenzweig Films, and Lloyd Ivan Miller and Alice P. Neuhauser of Lloyd Ivan Miller Productions also serve as executive producers.
Nightflyers is produced by Universal Cable Productions and co-produced by Netflix.
