With Women’s History Month around the corner, Syfy is commemorating the women who have influenced fandom with a new multi-platform campaign, “We Are Her(oes).”
Every day in March, Syfy will feature female-focused original programming, podcasts, marathons, movie stunts and Syfy Wire editorial to pay homage to the month-long celebration of women in history.

The campaign also comprises fresh branding and custom content, including redesigned brand logos and on-air bugs, animated spots that highlight female voices, stories and empowerment, and network vignettes that celebrate female characters from such series as Wynonna Earp, Van Helsing and The Magicians.

The network also announced that it will grow its female-focused brand, Fangrrls, by increasing the video, podcast and editorial content made for, by and about women.
“Fandom is about coming together to rally around our passions, no matter who you are,” said Sandy Deane, senior vice president, Syfy Wire, who also oversees Syfy Fangrrls, in a statement. “At Syfy, we celebrate women every day, but this month we’re going all out to honor those trailblazers who’ve influenced genre, storytelling, fandom and the creative arts in inspiring ways. We want to change the narrative around female fandom and give women a platform to celebrate their passions and join the conversation—not just this March, but all year long.”
Women’s History Month kicks off on March 1, with International Women’s Day taking place on March 8.
